About us

The Friends of Limpsfield Common is a small, local and not-for-profit organisation that supports the conservation, care and enjoyment of Limpsfield Common.

Working with the National Trust, our aim is to raise the profile of Limpsfield Common across the Community and provide opportunities for local people and visitors to become members to help maintain the area for future generations.

The Friends of Limpsfield Common undertakes a range of voluntary tasks in order to promote Limpsfield Common to the local community, and we are always looking for new members and volunteers.

As a Member, you are actively supporting the preservation and management of Limpsfield Common, and your Membership fee (£10) goes directly to its care and upkeep.

We have seen increasing use of Limpsfield Common over the last few years, particularly since the COVID lockdowns, with both locals and visitors increasingly using the Common and Limpsfield Chart as a natural place for exercise and to enjoy nature and our wonderful open heathland and woodland.

This has unfortunately put additional pressure on the area and its native flora and fauna, and the ever-increasing numbers of people and dogs and the creation of unofficial pathways, has led to serious fragmentation of precious wildlife habitats.

We therefore ask you to please respect Limpsfield Common, and the work that the National Trust and Task Force volunteers do to preserve its heritage and natural beauty by sticking to the designated footpaths and bridleways and keeping your dog(s) under control and in sight at all times. And please, please bag up your dog poo and put it in the bins provided at every car park!

Thank you!
